CGI PLANETS

Firstly let me say that I love space.

I could watch hours on end of documentaries about the planets, especially the Exoplanets.

I've always watch footage from space and sat there in amazement thinking "Wow... That's unbelievable".

After researching this topic I still think the same thing but in a sarcastic way. This is truly the worst thing for me along my journey and i wish i could unlearn it.

I try to approach these subject objectively but I am having trouble with this one .

Maybe the below video will explain it best.

Now i want you to be honest with yourself. Did any of that look real?

Below is another one

Again, be honest with yourself. Is it CGI or real footage?

Please keep in mind that this is NASA footage from real missions.

Now one for Jupiter from Discovery

Ok so here is one about Mars from Discovery.

I could see a few seconds of what i might consider real footage but that could be a desert on Earth. Have you heard of a place called Devon Island?

Devon Island is "the largest uninhabited island on Earth" and NASA have a base there to test technology ( 1 ,  2 ).

They even call it "Mars on Earth"

For Information i found on Mars exploration please click here but look at the landscape of Devon Island. Remarkably similar hey?

Did you see the rover in the video?

Google "Mars Rover" for me or click here for my search.

The vast majority of the images are clearly CGI.

I saw a few that were real  but most are not the rovers we sent to Mars but are from Devon Island here on Earth ( 12 )

The few I saw that were The Curiosity Rover were massive. It measures

  • Length: 10 feet (3 meters)
  • Width: 9 feet (2.7 meters)
  • Height: 7 feet (2.2 meters)

and Weighs 899 kg  (1,982 pounds) !!!!

But we never see pictures like this anywhere other than in the lab.

Instead we get CGI. The one on the Wiki page for rovers shows a laser shooting out of the eye. It does say "artist conception"under it but why would they do that?

And that tiny disclaimer of "artist conception is often overlooked by normal people

The Wiki page for Curiosity has a selfie though. Click here to see all of them but i have one below

Its a CGI selfie !!!!!!

And may I ask how this is a selfie?   You can clearly see there is no way it is taking an image of itself. So who is taking this "real image"?

NASA have it on their site as seen here. "A sandy selfie"

Does The design look familiar to you? It does to me. It looks like they just copied Johnny 5 from Short Circuit. Laser and all.

Now I dont doubt that they actually built something here on Earth and posed for a few picture with it but is it on Mars?

And I also see that Mars may not even be as red as we think.

I found the below images on NASAs Jet Propulsion Laboratory site with a search for Mars images. Click here to see the source

They were side by side, showing "Knudsen Ridge" along "Marathon Valley"dated February 25th 2016. The one on the left had "enhanced color" in the description.

I found the same images on NASA's Spirit and Opportunity page which you can see here.

"Researchers are using Opportunity this month to examine rocks that may have been chemically altered by water billions of years ago. The mission's current targets of investigation are from ruddy-tinted swaths the researchers call red zones, in contrast to tan bedrock around these zones"

Apparently "Enhanced color makes red zone material on the ridge easier to recognize"

There was a third image  which is  a "stereo view which combines views from the left eye and right eye of Opportunity's panoramic camera (Pancam) to appear three dimensional when seen through blue-red glasses with the red lens on the left. It is a mosaic of Pancam frames"

There are many more like Here, Here but please visit my Mars Exploration page for more information by clicking here.

What does NASA have to say about this?

"Getting the colors right is not an exact science," says Bell. "Giving an approximate view of what we'd see if we were there involves an artistic, visionary element as well – after all, no one's ever been there before." However, great pains are taken to be as accurate as possible, short of going there ourselves.

To give people a sense of being on Mars, scientists combine views through telescopes, data from past Mars missions, and new information from the current mission to create a color-balanced, uniform scene. Color-corrected mosaics simulate the view a person would see if all the images in the mosaic were taken on the same day, at the same moment.

In addition, the rovers can take three pictures in a row of the same surface area on Mars using three different primary color filters – red, green, and blue – to make one color image. "It works a little like an inkjet color printer, which combines primary colors to create various shades on paper," explains Eric De Jong, Lead for the Solar System Visualization Team at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. "Then, we can tweak the color just like you can adjust the color balance on a TV screen at home."

So far, however, the images produced are only approximate martian colors. That's because many of the pictures are taken with set of camera filters that include near-infrared or ultraviolet wavelengths, which our eyes do not perceive. Overall, there are 14 "geology" filters (two additional camera filters were designed exclusively to observe the sun). Scientists find these geology filters extremely useful because they provide maximum contrast for analyzing some of the most interesting geological features at the landing site.

"We almost never choose to take the images in natural color, because that's not as helpful to us scientifically," said Eric. "However, we're able to approximate what humans might see because Jim's team lived and breathed with this camera for many years, experimenting to get the colors in the camera models just right."

That was from NASA's JPL Mars exploration rovers page. You can read it in full by clicking here.

The blue sky is a controversy in many circles and I find it amusing that people will lean toward the fact that NASA are trying to hide something about Mars or its atmosphere (like being able to support other life which they are hiding etc) rather than even just for 1 second consider that the images are simply taken here on Earth at Devon Island or other locations. People won't even entertain the idea an simply cry "Conspiracy theory" or "Where is your tin foil hat?"

Think about that for a moment.............The constant bombardment of obvious CGI and artistry has worked very well on the general public.  So much so that Alien life is far more reasonable then the possibility that a government agency is telling us lies. We will get to the Alien subject later or you can visit my page here.

Now add to this all the other problems with the images like wildlife and plants being seen.

Again please visit my Mars Exploration page for more information by clicking here.

So what do you think?

I know this may be hard at first.

I never noticed any of this before. I have seen a lot images of planets and i guess I just never really thought about it that much.

Now that I have noticed some of these things I cant believe how I missed it.

Are you thinking about it now?

At this point if your still calling this crazy I challenge you to find me an image of a planet that isn't CGI.

Google "images of planets" or click here for my search.

Not one real image..........except maybe the few from Devon Island.

I even saw the box "real"in the top left and this it what was shown when i clicked on it. A search for "real images of planets"

Maybe you think you have found 1 or 2 or even 10 and i wasn't looking hard enough but I have to point out...........

We have been in space since the 60's.

We  are told that probes have been sent to Venus as early as 1962, to Mars in 1965, to Jupiter in 1973, to Mercury in 1974, to Saturn in 1979, Uranus in 1986, Neptune in 1989 and even to comets and asteroids (list here). There should be thousands of pictures.

As far as I'm concerned on this topic there is not one real looking picture!!!!! (other than Devon island)

Did you notice that the recent pictures sent back from "New Horizons" showing Pluto actually had a shape of Pluto the cartoon dog ?

Some say its a love heart but i think its Pluto.

So now we have a picture of Pluto, with Pluto the dog and a picture of Earth with "SEX" in the clouds.

Seriously what would be the chances?

We have apparently visited the entire solar system. I counted 17 probes that are still active and all that can be provided is CGI images of the planets.

Do you disagree?

Still think they are real?

Id like to ask you how much do you know about the Solar System? Click here to find out

Now did you see any real images of Planets during that?  No........

Lets start looking at the individual planets.

If you want a sort of one stop shop here is a site I found called Sky Image Lab.

Or a better one from the Planetary Society which has the Bruce Murray image library who "insisted that Planetary missions take photos for the public as well as for scientists"

But below I have used several sources.

Before we start..... NASA claim that the only Planets that the Hubble Telescope  ( 1 , 2 ) has not imaged are Earth because its too close and Mercury because it is too cllose to the sun and too bright for Hubble ( 1 )

Below is an image i found here and here

With the exception of the Moon......Are they Realistic to you?

And while we are talking about it, Find me an image of Hubble or click here for the google search.

Ok so Maaayyyybbbee  one of them could be considered real, Maybe......But click here for my finding on Satellites

So lets go planet by planet.

mercury

Search real images of Mercury or Click here.

Which one is a real picture of Mercury? There are so many and ever single one is different.

Planetary Society Mercury gallery  here

As there are no Hubble images of Mercury I chose a few from NASA

a mosaic  from observations taken by Mariner 10  ( 1 )  and the first map from  Messenger ( 2 ) and compared it to an image of Mercury from an Earth based telescope ( 1 , 2 )

So through technology that normal people cant access we are expected to just rely on the corporations for genuine images of the planet, knowing what we have covered so far when the best we can see is a blurry light in the sky.

Lets look at some more.

Here are 62 images from NASA's Messenger Probe on Space.com (published 2014)

Some of my favorites are below but the stand outs were  numbers 44 showing"Micky Mouse" and 46 showing the "Cookie Monster". Number 20 shows the Earth and Moon from Mercury and look at the image they choose for Earth.

Ok so keep track with me.

Now we have the Cookie Monster, Micky Mouse and Pluto.

We have Johnny 5 and "SEX"

Here is a "psychedelic (Mercury) appearance is explained by NASA overlaying the pictures from the spacecraft’s Visual and Infrared Spectrometer (Virs) onto a black and white mosaic in order to accentuate features such as craters and volcanic vents"

And NASAs Messenger Gallery had this which is "The first high-resolution image of Mercury by a spacecraft in over 30 years"

"The color image was generated by combining three separate images taken through WAC filters sensitive to light in different wavelengths"

"Creating a false-color image in this way accentuates color differences on Mercury's surface"

Browse through the Gallery because I think this one was the most realistic and there is a more comprehensive gallery here

Here is Mercury transiting the Sun and 7 more images

They even show what the inside of the planet is made of

Venus

They are announcing new planets every other day. The so called "Exoplanets" are being discovered by Kepler and Hubble.
